ParkNook – Terms of Service

Effective Date: 19/11/2025

Welcome to ParkNook, the latest innovation by YQBuddy (Pty) Ltd, designed to simplify how people find and offer parking across homes, apartments, businesses, and other trusted spaces. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain the rules for using the ParkNook website, mobile app, and all related features (“Platform”). By accessing or using ParkNook, you agree to these Terms. If you do not accept them, you may not use the Platform.



1. Agreement to These Terms

By using ParkNook, you confirm that you understand and accept these Terms and are legally able to enter into this agreement. If you disagree with any part, please discontinue use immediately.


2. What ParkNook Provides

ParkNook is a digital platform that enables:

  • Drivers to search for short-term or daily parking,
  • Space Providers (homeowners, businesses, landlords, etc.) to list and offer parking bays. 

ParkNook does not own or operate the parking spaces listed. We simply connect people and provide tools for communication, booking, and payment processing.


3. Creating and Using an Account

  • Registration: Some features require an account. You must provide accurate, updated information at all times.
  • Security: You are responsible for keeping your login details safe. All activity under your account is assumed to be yours.
  • Account Actions: YQBuddy (Pty) Ltd may restrict, suspend, or permanently close an account if harmful, fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity is detected.
     

4. Payments, Payouts & Platform Fees

  • How Payments Work: When a Driver books a parking space, the payment is collected securely through ParkNook’s payment partners.
  • Provider Payouts: Parking Space Providers receive their payout after the booking period ends, minus ParkNook’s service fee.
  • Service Fee: ParkNook charges a percentage-based fee to support platform development, support services, and operational costs.
  • Refunds: Refund decisions depend on the situation and ParkNook’s cancellation rules. All refund requests must be submitted through ParkNook support.
  • Disputes: Any payment-related disputes must be reported to ParkNook for review and resolution.
     

5. User Behaviour Expectations

All users must use the Platform responsibly. This includes:

  • Being respectful when communicating with other users,
  • Not damaging listed properties,
  • Not engaging in harassment or illegal acts,
  • Following all applicable municipal and national laws. 

Failure to follow these rules may lead to suspension or termination.


6. Privacy & Data Use

ParkNook collects information such as names, contact details, vehicle details, location data, and payment information to operate the service.

  • Purpose: Data is used to power bookings, verify users, improve security, and enhance Platform functionality.
  • Protection: Data is encrypted, stored securely, and accessible only to authorized personnel.
  • No Selling of Data: User data is never sold to third parties.
  • Removal Requests: Users may request that their data be deleted, subject to legal retention requirements.

7. Liability & Responsibility

  • Vehicle Safety: ParkNook does not insure or guarantee the safety of any parked vehicle or personal belongings. Drivers are responsible for ensuring their vehicle is properly locked and insured.
  • Platform Limitation: YQBuddy (Pty) Ltd is not responsible for losses, theft, injury, or damage occurring at a listed property. Use of the Platform is at your own risk.
  • Local Regulations: Providers must ensure their space meets all zoning, permission, and regulatory requirements.
     

8. Insurance Guidance

ParkNook recommends that Providers and Drivers maintain appropriate insurance. Examples include:

  • Liability insurance
  • Property/asset insurance
  • Vehicle insurance 

ParkNook does not provide insurance of any kind.


9. Relationship Between Providers & Drivers

Any arrangement between a Provider and a Driver is strictly between those two parties. ParkNook is not a landlord, tenant, agent, or property manager.


10. Ownership of Content

All app designs, logos, text, media, and intellectual property on the Platform are owned by YQBuddy (Pty) Ltd. You may not copy, distribute, or reproduce our materials without written permission.

If you upload content—such as photos, listings, or reviews—you grant ParkNook permission to use that content for Platform-related purposes including promotion.


11. Offers, Discounts & Referral Programs

ParkNook may provide promotions or referral bonuses from time to time. These may be changed, paused, or cancelled without notice.


12. Legal Compliance

Users must obey all laws when using ParkNook. Providers must ensure that listing their parking space is allowed in their area.


13. Dispute Handling

If you have a concern:

  1. Contact ParkNook support via the app or email. 
  2. ParkNook will review the issue and attempt to resolve it fairly.
  3. If unresolved, the matter may proceed to mediation or arbitration, depending on the nature of the dispute.
     

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any legal matters must be brought before a court with proper jurisdiction in South Africa.


15. Updates to These Terms

ParkNook may update or revise these Terms at any time. If major changes occur, users will be notified. Continued use of the Platform means you accept the updated Terms.
